Osceola National Forest – Canebrake Rattlesnake

I met up with Mark Kenderdine for a day of field herping in Osceola National Forest during our trip. We found an abandoned property with a bunch of old dog kennels – so I tipped each one over to look for Gray rat snakes. I approached one and was about to reach under the front to give it the old “heave-ho” when something looked out of place.

Wow, that could have been bad.

Here is the snake in all its glory. What a beauty. We took a few photo’s and went on our way.
